Infants and Two Innocent Minor Girls at Bamenda Central Prison, Cameroon<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>\u201cNo Babies Behind Bars\u201d<\/strong> campaign issues an urgent call to national and international communities to demand the <strong>immediate and unconditional release<\/strong> of mothers detained with their infants, as well as two innocent minor girls currently held at <strong>Bamenda Central Prison<\/strong> in Cameroon\u2019s North-West Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Persons Concerned<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We, citizens of Cameroon, Africa, and the world, demand the release of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Madam Joycelyn Ndum (22)<\/strong>, detained with her 3-month-old baby, illegally arrested on <strong>June 24, 2025<\/strong>, in Ndop, Mufuo Quarter, Bamessing Village (Ngoketunjia Division, North-West Region, Cameroon);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Madam Blanche Yocnteh (22)<\/strong>, detained with her 3-month-old baby, arrested at the <strong>same place and date<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Two (02) innocent minor girls<\/strong>, currently detained at Bamenda Central Prison;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Any other unarmed civilian victims<\/strong> unlawfully detained in this case.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Established Facts<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Verified information points to serious human rights violations, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Arrests carried out without judicial warrants<\/strong>, in violation of the principle of personal criminal responsibility;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Inhumane detention conditions<\/strong>, causing illness among the infants;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Threats of public executions<\/strong>, allegedly made by the Divisional Officer, within a region already affected by documented impunity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our Position<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We firmly affirm that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Prison is no place for infants or innocent children<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No innocent child should ever be deprived of liberty<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Motherhood is not a crime<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Justice must never be collective or family-based<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our Demands<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We call for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>immediate release<\/strong> of the mothers and their infants;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>immediate release<\/strong> of the two innocent minor girls;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The use of <strong>non-custodial legal alternatives<\/strong> for lactating mothers or mothers living with infants;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Urgent medical care<\/strong> for the sick babies;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Independent, impartial, and transparent investigations<\/strong> into the legality and conditions of arrest and detention.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>No baby should remain behind bars.<br>No innocent child should grow up behind prison walls.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Campaign
